May Newsletter Edition 2007
Welcome to our monthly (hopefully) newsletter. We're not as web literate as we'd like to be, but we're working on it. Therefore, bear with us if things start out a bit choppy. We're hoping for smoother sailing ahead.

With spring comes renewal and rejuvenation. We are rejuvenating ourselves by exploring many needlework options including beading, ribbon work, crewel and needle felting. It's so fun to make th acquaintanes of these old friends.

We hope you're able to find spring renewal, too. Why not try with a wonderful new project? (You can't spend all your time outside.)

To kick off spring, we have the Victoria's Sampler trunk show for our Designer-of-the-Month series. These intricate pieces must be seen to be appreciated.
Thanks to Madeline Anderson, We've become pincushion crazy. So crazy, in fact, that we have a darling display of all types of pincushions. Be sure to stop by and see it.
We won't be holding any classes during May, but oh, what a line up we have for coming months. We will teaching everything from soup to nuts, or , we should say, from French knots to Bouillons. Keep checking our "Classes" page for updates.
We love CREATE AND DECORATE magazine so much that we will now be carrying it. Each issue is filled with punchneedle, rug hooking, wool applique and primitive stitching ideas and patterns. If you'd like us to hold a copy of each issue for you, let us know. They come out bi-monthly.

We've been compiling a stock of books on various needlework topics. Look in the "What's New" section for these.
New luscious wool is here! Becca's Primitive Woolens has just delivered beautiful blue hues,creams/naturals, golds and greens. They are so pretty, we want to swim in them!

Lizzie*Kate will be here to teach this fall. Set aside September 22,2007 !!!!!We don't know what she will be teaching, but it will be an exclusive to La Crosse. We do know that along with the class, she will be the speaker at a luncheon and will talk about "A Day in the Life of Lizzie*Kate." Sarah and I were lucky enough to hear her speak on this topic at Nashville. It's a fun presentation that you won't want to miss. If you don't think you can make it for the entire day but what would like to come for the luncheon, we will work that out.
RETREAT TIME IS HERE!!!

November 2-4, 2007
Last year's retreat at the Radisson was so fun, we're doing it again. Together with A Stitch in Time, we will hold a retreat at the Days Inn on French Island on November 2nd through the 4th. While all details haven't been ironed out yet, please put these dates on your calendar. Plan now for a fun filled weekend of stitching, socializing, and shopping.
Introducing A Prairie Halloween Companion, a monthly series from Prairie Moon. Receive twelve months of Halloween excitement. When you've finished the project, you will have an entire Halloween display.(Not just Ornaments- all kinds of goodies)

Each month, you will receive a kit with (usually) two ornament designs, the fabric , thread and buttons. The kit price is $30 per month. The first month, however, is for the tree skirt and includes more buttons and a larger piece of fabric. The first month's price is $45. You do not need to purchase the tree if you already have one you'd like to use. If you want the tree, you also get a goodie box of ornaments. The price is $50. Unfortunately, you cannot buy the goodie box without the tree.

If you sign up for this really wonderful, creative club, you cannot quit it before the time is up. If you join late, you must purchase all 12 of the months.

We have the first two kits available now. They are stitched and in the store. Call or email us if you'd like to join.

Charland Designs
In April, Charland Gavin from Charland Designs visited our fair city and spoke to our local embroider's guild. She gave a marvelous lecture on the making of silver charms.. and intricate process. We were so fascinated by her "stitching" charms that we're starting a charm of the month club. Learn a stitch every month and add a charm to your silver bracelet. We'll supply the banding, thread and chart for you to make your stitches. Once you learn the stitch, you purchase a charm of that stitch. When your banding is finished, we will give you an initial charm. Put it on the banding, or add it to your bracelet. 10% of the proceeds from this club will go to the embroiderer's guild education committee. The bracelets will be approximately $22. The charms each month will be approximately $8.

If you love to stitch, what better way to flaunt your talent than to show off your stitches on your wrist?
