This newsletter is being written while it's raining. We're hoping that it means flowers are coming soon. It has been a loooong winter, but sunlight is at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy the upcoming season. Remember, though, that gardening and outside jobs can make you sore if you do too much. Make sure to temper your outside work with some stitching. Your muscles will thank you (and so will we).
New cross stitch designs, roving for needlefelting, wool for applique and rug hooking, and glorious linens are still coming in. Make sure to stop by the store or shop our website for inspiration. Needlework flowers can be just as pretty as those in the garden!
Thanks to all who joined us for our spring retreat. We had fun. We'll be sure to let you know about the dates for the fall retreat as soon as we know them.
Other important dates and specials are listed throughout this newsletter. Read on and enjoy!

Some terrific designs are here! We're enjoying the newest projects from Homespun Elegance, including their stash box and stitchery keep. Chessie and Me has some delightful new biscornus (the hot new thing). Hands to Work has some winners, especially "AlphaBat." He's just the design to get you ready for Halloween. It is spring, however, and wonderful designs for spring have come in from Blackbird Designs, Cricket Collection, and others. "Stitch Graffiti" from Monsterbubbles is a really fun book. It's great for those who want to branch out and stitch more modern, funky designs. It's also great for that teenager you'd love to see stitching. Please check all of these out in our "What's New?" section on our homepage. If we don't have what you're looking for, let us know. We'll be happy to find it for you.

New items will be coming soon, and just in time for Mother's Day. Let your kids, husband, or significant other know what you'd like for your special day. Come in and make a wish list of these great new finds: "Stitcher's Choice Cookbook," the new version of "Cross Stitcher's Bible," Mary Engelbreit totes, designer tool cases, or attractive Nordic magnetic needle holders. If you're not a mom, these would be great for your favorite mom friends. Have fun with these great gifts.

The Victoria Sampler has done it again! This beautiful new design is called a needlepocket with stitching accessories. It conveys that sense of loving camaraderie that steals over us as we stitch together, whether in person or online. We, of course, are making a club out of it. Join us this summer when we delight in making this exquisite piece. (Dates are yet to be decided.) If you don't have time for a club, you are still able to get all of the materials. With fabric, threads and chart, the design will cost about $100. It's made of silk threads and wonderful decorative stitches. This will be a keepsake. Let us know if you're interested, and we'll add you to the growing list of stitchers. As the design says, "Where stitchers gather, friendship blooms." Make some new friends this summer while you make a keepsake.

Stitch-opoly will be here soon! We are expecting our first shipment in May. What is it? It's the property trading game that lets stitchers share their love of needlework with friends and family, and have fun! Players travel around the board, buy needlework properties, collect rent, and build needlework studios and shops while making sure they don't "lose their needle," which means they lose their turn. This game will be fun, fun, fun. The cost is only $30, so order your today.

April's designer of the month is Ewe and Eye and Friends. Many of these designs have been around for years, but have been made fresh by new owner Ruth Sparrow of Twisted Threads. Ewe and Eye and Friends is known for small, mostly delicate samplers that incorporate a variety of stitches. In the past, their charts were known for having lots of mistakes, not giving enough information such as fabric type, etc. Since buying the company several years ago, Ruth has painstakingly corrected all charts. The new charts are easy to read and understand. Their beauty is enhanced by making them quick and easy stitches. We hope you enjoy looking at our wonderful selection of charts and models from Ewe and Eye and Friends.

Of course, our kit of the month is from Ewe and Eye and Friends. It's called "Pink Hare Sampler" and is just in time for spring. Our model is stitched using one thread over two on 32ct Belfast Platinum. Silk ribbon is also added to the design, as is a mother-of-pearl heart button.
The discounted kit cost, including chart, fabric, button and threads is $20. The discounted frame cost is $30. Call or email us if you'd like the kit or the kit and frame.
