Ahhh, March....arguably the sloppiest, windiest month of the year. But, it's also a true sign of the coming spring. After this long winter, we probably all need some spring! The nice thing about our long, snowy winter, though, is that so many customers came to the store to stock up on projects. They hunkered down and stitched. We love seeing old and new customers, and appreciate you making our winter a lot warmer.

March will be busy for us. We begin the month with the French Fantasy Designs class on March 1 and end the month with our retreat on March 28-30. We hope you enjoy our offerings in between, too. We decided not to add new classes this month because of the two events, and because Easter falls in the middle. We hope to entice you with new classes in April. W

What's New?

The biggest news are the new designs, fabrics and threads we have in stock. We've received a lot of new items from the Nashville market, and hope they're to your liking. Make sure to check back often, as new arrivals are coming in daily.

Weeks Dye Works has done it again. They've come out with 25 of their most popular colors in three strand continuous feed thread. This thread is perfect for punch needle enthusiasts. You won't have to rethread until you need to change colors!

Crescent Colours has new Belle Soie colors that are scrumptious! You have to see them. Our favorites are Spring Violets and Cranberry. Yummy.

Weeks Dye Works has also dyed some wonderful new linen in 30 and 35 counts. Many match their thread colors, so they're simply gorgeous. Our favorites include Peoria Purple, Mocha, Straw, Dove and others. You'll have to try them on your next project.

We've added to our stock of wool roving for needlefelting. The spring colors we have in a luscious. Felting is fun and FAST.

There are too many new designs to count here. However, our favorites include newbies from Cricket, Blackbird (gorgeous), Sweetheart Tree (especially her fun, tiny Fiesta Flowers). To view these, click on "What's New" on our homepage.

Spring Retreat

Space is running our for our spring retreat at Stoney Creek Inn in Onalaska. We're joining hands with A Stitch in Time again to offer this fun-filled retreat on March 28-30. Enjoy lots of fun, jammie jaunts, good food, good friends, and lots of stitching time for only $79. The price also includes a kit/class that you will LOVE. The retreat starts at noon on Friday, March 28 and runs until noon on Sunday, March 30. Call, email, or stop in to register. We won't have another retreat until November, so you don't want to miss it.

Designer of the Month

Mosey 'n Me is the March Designer of the Month. The whimsical designs are the result of the funky creativity of Judy and Frank Bialec. Many of you know Frank from the show, "Trading Spaces." He and his wife, Judy, have been designing cross stitch for years. Now, they also design punch needle patters and designs for needle felting. We also have some of Frank's art work and note cards for sale. We hope you enjoy these funky designs, and are able to get a smile out of them.

March's Fabric of the Month is Chalice from Picture this Plus. This stuff is really beautiful. (You can add your name to the club at any time.)

The Candle Mat Club's offering is really cute this month. We have, however, changed the colors. Instead of a black background, the bunnies get to romp on an Iris background from Weeks Dye Works. This makes the bunnies much happier.

Just Another Button Company's teapot this month is a Leprechaun teapot. How cute! And, he's only $35.00 for the pattern, fabric, thread and buttons.

This month's Kit of the Month is from Mosey'n Me. It's punch needle, and just in time for Easter. This bunny is cute and fun to punch, since she's punched with #8 pearl cotton from WDW. Our Baubles auto from SamSarah is really popular. This month, you'll receive the March and April Baubles. The price is $53.00 and includes two charts, the prefinished pillow wrap and buttons.

Living with Charm fans will enjoy this new design from Lizzie*Kate. "Remember" and "Give" are the new words of advice and it costs only $7.50 this month.

Lizzie*Kate Contest

Lizzie*Kate has introduced a new contest. You cann read all about it on their website, www.LizzieKate.com. Essentially, they're asking stitchers to create a name for a design, and then they'll design the pattern after the winning name. You could wint up to $100 Lizzie*Kate merchandise. We'd love it if one of our customers would win!

We Gotta Regatta

We have some wonderful sailors in our regatta. Some are already past Stoddard, and are cruising along toward Lansing. There's room for a lot more boaters on the Mighty Mississippi, though, so don't despair....you can enter the regatta at any time. Remember, the idea behind the regatta is for you to finish needlework pieces that have been left ashore. For each finished piece you show us, you'll receive a Regatta Buck. The buck is worth on dollar toward any purchase. The first boater to get to Lansing will win dinner for two at a Mississippi restaurant. Keep stitching and enjoy your time on the river.
